Since I live in Washington DC and given that there is a new administration who is looking forward to accomplishing a lot in their first 100 days in office, I too am starting a 100 days challenge to create my own agenda. Why am I doing this? Because we all have the same 24 hours and the ability to govern ourselves according to our own mandate.
Regardless of your political affiliation I challenge you to also take the #first100dayschallenge because you too have the ability to create your own agenda just like our new government administration. No matter if you agree or disagree with our governments' vision take action by creating your agenda and perhaps someday you too will be given the opportunity to implement your vision for a better country and world. Over the next 100 days I will seek to maximize my schedule with as many international related experiences, meetings and actions as possible and will recap about what I did during the day on this blog. I have no idea what will transpire as a result of this, but I do know that after reading "Getting Things Done" as long as I write down my next actions and set up reminders I will achieve my outcome. Day Eighteen (Feb 6) - Day One Hundred (April 29)
Met Dr. Klaus Schwab
Attended the Northeast WEF Shapers Retreat
Co-authored an article about Rotary International

30th bday with friends.
Published TBF's first blog post written by Benjamin Liogon! "My Last College Season", fantastic story.
Skied for first time in PA with wife for bday. Learned three life lessons: 1. Falling - You have to learn how to pick yourself up after you fall, because very rarely will somehow help you up when going down the slope. 2. Forward - After you pick yourself up, you have to move forward because you cannot go backwards. 3. Vision- There are many obstacles on the slopes but as long as you look where you want to go, your skis will follow. Day Seventeen (Feb 5)
Dim Sum Sunday followed by one thing the SuperBowl. Caught the game with my bud Steve and we watched the most epic comeback ever. Are you kidding me?
Day Sixteen (Feb 4)
Ahh the weekend, time to do the things I love, baseball.
Worked on a list of to dos with my great friend and co-founder Cesar. Started planning for the Irvine Memorial Day Tournament in California. Compiled a list of college tours for our teams to visit while in California. Made plans to watch the Super Bowl. Came to a realization, everything that we do is international, so what does this mean for the nationalism/populism movement? Something's gotta give and I'm not sure how this will end. Day Fifteen (Feb 3)
Wore red for National Wear Red Day.
Worked. Ate Mexican food for dinner again, but this time at Dulcinea, the spot of the bday bash. Day Fourteen (Feb 2)
Worked.
Made Mexican food for dinner. Started planning for my birthday. Day Thirteen (Feb 1)
Worked.
Attended a World Economic Forum Davos Debrief event for the annual 47th meeting at the Swiss Residence of Ambassador Martin Dahinden, which was organized by the World Economic Forum Global Shapers and the American Swiss Foundation. We had the opportunity to speak with Megan Murphy, the Editor of Bloomberg Businessweek as well as a Congressman from South Carolina. They spoke about many meaningful topics but one common item stood out among the both of them, populism and nationalism is now the new normal, globally. Day Twelve (Jan 31)
Worked.
Re-edited "The Last Season" and sent email to Benjamin, can't wait to publish his story on our diamond diplomat blog. Made dinner again and went to bed early because tomorrow will be a busy day. Day Eleven (Jan 30)
Worked.
Recovered. Edited draft of "The Last Season" by Benjamin Liogon, who's story is amazing. Made chicken for dinner, wife and I are continuing our paleo diet, which in many ways may be tougher than writing this blog. Day Ten (Jan 29)
What a day, what a day.
Woke up and had breakfast with Preme Next went to celebrate the Chinese Lunar Year at the DC festival in Chinatown
Next on my way to the second engagement stumbled upon the "no wall no ban protest", it was incredible to see how citizens stood up for those who cannot defend themselves.
Now on to the main engagement, a concert by Cuarteto Latinoamericano at the National Gallery of Art.
After the concert enjoyed the beautiful gallery, it's a must see.
Day Nine (Jan 28)
Today was an admin day but with a touch of international.
Got a haircut, (spoke in Spanish with my barber, we chatted about Mexico since he's from the old country like my family). Did laundry. Bought groceries (at an Asian and Latino supermarket). Planned for the next day (Chinese Lunar Year). Day Eight (Jan 27)
Practiced Piano (played Bach's Little Fugue)

Planned the Victor J. Goldberg award nomination.

Starving for Mexican food, thus dove into Baja Fresh and ordered some wahoo fish tacos.
Now that we I got my Mexican dish fix, time to eat some ramen.
This challenge is exhausting! Slept at 8:45 pm because I've been hustling non stop in addition to work during the day.
Day Five (Jan 24)
Went to the National Press Club and worked on Hockey article with friend Alex (hint: focusing on international expansion for NHL)
Speaking of the Press Club, wow we now have a new security system. 2017 is an interesting time for the Press I guess.
Attended my good friend Rob's bday at Barcelona.
Day Four (Jan 23)
Slept a few minutes longer and missed breakfast :(
But, ate sweet and sour chicken for lunch (getting myself ready for the Chinese New Year)
Rushed home after work, changed and went to the Bistro Bohem, an awesome Czech restaurant. Ate the most delicious lentil soup I've ever had, and I've had many variations because I'm Mexican.
The reason I went to Bistro Bohem was to check out the Russian Literature Book Club of Washington DC who happened to be reading "The Captain's Daughter" by Alexander Pushkin. After the meeting, spoke with the event host, founder and organizer, Olga. She told me that she founded the club in 2014 as a way to share her interest of Russian literature with the DC community. To this day the club meets every two weeks at the Bistro Bohem and averages well north of 15 attendees per meeting. If we are to truly achieve mutual respect and understanding as a society, we need more book czar's like Olga. Looking forward to joining the next session and reading the book.
Day Three (Jan 22)
Woke up really patriotic and broke the fast with Preme. Made an egg, spinach, tomato and turkey omelette.
Continued reading "Getting Things Done" and learned a valuable lesson: Deciding isn't really an action because actions take time and deciding doesn't.
With that in mind started planning and scheduling activities because this blog ain't going to randomly write itself if I don't plan accordingly Finished framework of a finance article with a friend Ryan, hint, we're going to talk about predictit Made arrangements for a Latinos in hockey article brainstorm session

Ate breakfast with Preme Took pictures of Preme teaching her Thai cooking class (she rocks)
Published post of guitar for barter on craigslist.
Took pictures of Women's March on Washington (got inspired), but saddened to see so many signs thrown away. I hope folks shared them via social media so that their ideas spread as opposed to being a day only event. Shared some images on Facebook about march.
Watched episodes of Mr. Robot on Amazon Prime Video.

I have had some very unique opportunities to serve in the U.N and the U.S. Federal Government, but getting there wasn't very easy; therefore, I want to share my story in hopes of inspiring other young individuals to consider entrepreneurship or public service during a time of much need.
